Deawa Covid 19 launch
Deawa launched the covid 19 project in Harehills Leeds on the 10 of October in a move to provide awareness of the covid 19 and its impact on the BAME community.
Deawa would like to thank The National Lottery Community fund and & HM Government for the COVID-19 funding they provided us its allowed to reach the BAME community in cultural appropriate way. The funding has allowed us to translate government policies into a variety of ethnic languages making easy for people to understand. It has also allowed some of our volunteers to community easy with members of staff by providing them with iPads and internet helping to communicate with people especially during these lock down periods. Deawa has been able to print out information to distribute in different language informing community members using evidence information and social media has been rife with inaccurate information being spread about covid-19 and the vaccine.
Stay protected from the deadly corona virus
There are three simple actions we must all do to keep on protecting each other
- keep washing your hands regularly
- wear a face covering in enclosed spaces
- stay at least 2 metres apart – or 1 metre with a face covering or other precautions
